INFANT es una organización sin fines de lucro, creada por médicos argentinos en 2003, cuya misión es investigar las causas de enfermedades respiratorias que afectan gravemente a los niños, como el asma, la bronquiolitis, la neumonía y la gripe. Médicos, biólogos y bioquímicos trabajan para, entre otros objetivos: * Descubrir las causas del asma infantil y posibilitar el desarrollo de una vacuna. * Encontrar estrategias preventivas contra los virus respiratorios que causan bronquiolitis, neumonías y gripe. * Comprender mejor el mecanismo de protección de la leche materna en las enfermedades respiratorias. * Detectar grupos de riesgo en nuestro país frente a la gripe (influenza) Asimismo, como parte de su misión, la Fundación forma investigadores argentinos con los más altos estándares académicos y científicos internacionales. Los descubrimientos de INFANT son usados por instituciones públicas (Ministerios de Salud, hospitales, Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva, etc.) y por otros centros académicos, para prevenir y curar mejor dichas enfermedades.

About Fundación INFANT
