INFAS

INFAS (Instituto Nacional de Formación Agraria y Sindical) is a Dominican Republic nonprofit training institution founded in 1962 as the official education arm of the Confederación Autónoma Sindical Clasista (CASC). It focuses on the integral development of workers in rural and urban communities, offering training in union, technical, and social fields. Its aim is to strengthen participants’ knowledge and practical abilities while supporting professional development and broader social progress.

Since 1996, INFAS has collaborated with INFOTEP, the national vocational training institute, as a certified training center. Its programs include courses in tax accounting, web programming, office software, and entrepreneurship. These qualifications help learners develop skills in areas such as fiscal accounting, website creation and maintenance, document and spreadsheet preparation, presentations, and business planning. Course requirements and durations vary by program; some are intended for young people and adults aged 16 or older. INFAS reports delivering thousands of training activities and serving tens of thousands of participants, with certified facilitators and technology-equipped laboratories supporting its vocational education.
