Il est en charge du catalogue de la faune suisse, de l’actualisation régulière de la taxonomie et de l’enrichissement de l’atlas national de distribution des espèces. En tant que centre de compétence, info fauna conseille la Confédération, les cantons, diverses institution et le grand public en matière surtout de conservation des espèces et de leurs habitats.
