Infolog S. R. L.

is an Argentine company responsible for the custody, administration, preservation, and modernization of YPF’s Archivo Técnico Avellaneda, the largest petroleum exploration archive in South America. Its collection contains more than one million uniquely catalogued geological and geophysical records, spanning from the 1909 report on well No. 5 to modern 3D seismic data from Vaca Muerta.

Based in Avellaneda, the archive occupies 11,000 square metres, including 4,500 square metres of covered space. Infolog serves YPF, Argentina’s National Secretariat of Energy, provincial governments, and private companies, and is a member of CEPERA with an ISO 9001-certified quality management system. Its services include secure archive custody, digitisation of well logs, profiles, maps, and large-format documents, GPS georeferencing of exploration projects, and restoration of data from obsolete magnetic media.

The company also provides access to interactive databases and maintains laboratories for examining physical samples. Infolog’s ongoing modernisation work focuses on durable digital preservation, upgraded laboratory infrastructure, and making historical exploration information easier to consult and use
