Inherit Carbon Solutions develops permanent carbon removal by capturing biogenic carbon dioxide produced at biogas plants that process organic waste. Rather than allowing this CO2 to enter the atmosphere, the company takes in liquid CO2 and arranges for it to be stored permanently underground beneath the North Sea. Its approach connects existing waste-processing operations with geological storage, turning a byproduct into a measurable climate solution.

Inherit says its first partner site is already operational, and describes its project with Tønder Biogas and Project Greensand in Denmark as the world’s first carbon removal project from biogas with geological storage in operation. The company also has additional projects in development and works with biogas plant operators through CO2 offtake partnerships.

For carbon removal buyers, Inherit delivers credits only after carbon has been captured, permanently stored, and certified by a trusted registry; customers pay on delivery rather than for projected removals. The company reports a multi-year carbon removal agreement with Nordea and has raised NOK 40 million to scale its operations.
