Inowas

INOWAS, short for Innovative Groundwater Solutions, offers a user-friendly web-based groundwater modeling platform that provides easy access to a range of modeling tools via the internet. Users can utilize all tools directly from their web browser at no cost, without the need for additional software installations. This platform promotes collaboration by enabling data and model sharing among users.

The tools, based on established groundwater flow equations, focus on water transport processes in the saturated soil zone, utilizing analytical or numerical equations. While primarily designed for managed aquifer recharge (MAR) planning, the tools can also be applied to general groundwater flow simulations. Notably, the platform features a new web-based graphic interface for MODFLOW, a renowned groundwater modeling tool.

Developed and maintained by the Research Group on Managed Aquifer Recharge at TU Dresden, this platform has been continuously enhanced since its inception in 2014, with initial funding support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
