Insects and Stories is the nature education and wildlife filmmaking project of Bähram “Bäru” Alagheband, a Swiss insect expert who introduces audiences to the hidden lives of local insects with enthusiasm and humor. The project focuses on the remarkable abilities of Swiss insects and shows how easy they can be to find, even in cities, at roadside rest areas, and close to home. Bäru shares their stories through multimedia presentations, guided excursions, school workshops held near schools, insect days, and talks.
Drawing on his work as an animal filmmaker and nature educator, including the online series SRF Krabbeltiere, he makes insects engaging for both nature lovers and people who feel they have little connection to them. Insects and Stories also welcomes inquiries for advice, conversations about beetles, and event bookings. The website lists upcoming events, including activities planned for 2026.
Through accessible, lively experiences, the project encourages people to look more closely at the insects around them and discover the surprising stories behind these often-overlooked creatures
