Insert Coins

Insert Coins e.V. is a nonprofit gaming association based in Herne, Germany, dedicated to preserving video games and making gaming history accessible to the public. Its collection spans more than 50 years and includes over 120 video game arcade machines and racing games, 60 pinball machines, 60 retro PCs, and 80 consoles. Visitors can experience these systems firsthand at the association’s gaming venue, which offers more than 1,000 square metres of space.

The association hosts public opening days, giving guests an opportunity to explore its collection and learn about visiting arrangements and tickets. People interested in retro gaming can also find ways to get involved in the club and its community. Insert Coins e.V. offers its venue for private events and welcomes support through memberships and corporate sponsorships. The organization also shares its enthusiasm for gaming and retro culture through a podcast. Following a move in 2025, the association has established a new home on Bahnhofstrasse in Herne, continuing its work to preserve gaming equipment for future generations.
