InsiteArt, founded in 1992, is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to producing artworks in the public sphere through collaborations among artists, cultural agents, institutions, and communities. Over the past twenty-eight years, InsiteArt has delivered six editions, each showcasing a unique curatorial and artistic perspective, while consistently prioritizing the long-term involvement of artists in developing projects tailored to specific contexts. InsiteArt's conceptual framework revolves around the idea of the public, encompassing experiences, interventions, and installations in public spaces as well as geographical locations that inspire artists' visions of the civic and social arena.

Initially based in the Tijuana/San Diego border region, InsiteArt has reimagined its platform as an exploration of the intertwined history of these two cities, navigating complex issues such as site-specificity, globalization, multiculturalism, and geopolitics. InsiteArt fosters innovation by providing artists with diverse platforms to conceive multifaceted projects, collaborating with regional and international curators and engaging in site-specific installations, performances, exhibitions, conversations, publications, public programs, and residencies. The sixth edition, Insite/Casa Gallina, operated in a working-class neighborhood near Mexico City's historic center, focusing on the intersection of artistic practice and daily life.

This project featured a house functioning as a hub for various artist initiatives, fostering a sense of conviviality, learning, and community engagement. INSITE's website serves as an extensive archive, documenting commissions, public programs, and the INSITE Journal, which explores the intersection of art, spatial practices, and the public sphere. Additionally, the site provides updates on current and upcoming projects and plans.
