Inspired Connections

Inspired Connections is a professional genealogy research business based in Iowa, founded in 2021 by researcher Kevin Spire. With more than 30 years of research experience, Spire helps individuals uncover documented family histories and the stories behind them. He is PLCGS-certified through the National Institute of Genealogical Studies, with specialized expertise in German records and DNA research.

Services range from retrieving individual records and building multigenerational family histories to advanced research for genealogical “brick walls.” The business focuses on Midwest, German, English, and Danish ancestry, particularly 19th- and 20th-century records. Its work combines archival discovery and traditional documentary research with genetic genealogy and DNA analysis to investigate biological connections and identity questions. Inspired Connections also offers lectures and educational presentations on topics including U.S. immigration, internet research, and cemetery symbolism. Case studies feature immigration journeys, a decades-old disappearance, and a DNA-based identity discovery. Clients can request a consultation, explore sample reports, or seek help with research at any stage.
