About Institut Hijau Indonesia
Institut Hijau Indonesia (IHI) is dedicated to promoting social and environmental justice in Indonesia. Established in 2008, IHI operates under the Green Civilization Foundation, aiming to cultivate a generation of green leaders equipped with social and ecological perspectives across the nation. The institute offers a range of programs focused on civic education to engage youth in understanding democracy and citizen rights, informal leadership training through the Green Leadership Indonesia (GLI) initiative, and capacity-building for law students via the Green Public Interest Lawyer program.
IHI also actively promotes environmental advocacy through the Green Youth Movement, empowering young people to engage in various environmental actions. Additionally, their research and policy center, EkososLab, focuses on innovative solutions to address climate change and promote sustainable development. Their scientific journal, Jurnal Peradaban Hijau, serves as a platform for sharing research on social justice and ecological sustainability.
