Instituto Ampara Animal

Instituto Ampara Animal is a Brazilian nonprofit organization dedicated to defending animal rights and encouraging respectful coexistence between people and animals. Founded in 2010 and directed by women, it received OSCIP status from Brazil’s Ministry of Justice in 2013. The organization says its work focuses on advocacy, education, awareness, and preventive action, guided by a One Health approach.

Its initiatives support dogs, cats, and wildlife through campaigns for adoption, sterilization, animal welfare, and public education. Ampara also cares for eight jaguars that cannot be returned to the wild, and invites supporters to help fund their food, health care, and enclosures through sponsorship. The organization offers ways to contribute through donations, volunteering, digital advocacy, and adoption initiatives.

It publishes activity reports and provides information about animal protection and responsible care. Ampara does not operate a shelter or conduct animal rescues. Its online store sells purpose-driven products, with all proceeds directed to its projects.
