Instituto Rio Itariri is an environmental conservation organization focused on protecting wildlife and caring for animals in need. Based in Pedro de Toledo, São Paulo, it receives wild animals sent through official channels, including victims of trafficking, injuries, burns, and traps. The institute provides secure accommodation, ongoing veterinary support, appropriate nutrition, and care for animals’ physical and emotional well-being.

Recognizing that some animals cannot return to the wild, Instituto Rio Itariri maintains them responsibly in controlled environments, with attention to welfare, ethics, and legal requirements. Its work combines animal rescue, treatment, and long-term care, while drawing attention to wildlife trafficking and the threats it poses to individual animals and ecosystems.

The organization invites individuals and businesses to support its mission through donations and partnerships. Contributions help fund food, veterinary care, safe living spaces, and continued protection for animals with nowhere else to go. The institute also shares stories, information, and updates through its blog, image gallery, and live content, and reports recognition as an Ambassador of Peace by the Universal Peace Federation.
