About Instituto Somos
Instituto Somos is a Brazilian education-focused institute committed to widening access to education, reading, and future-ready skills for young people experiencing social vulnerability. Its work aims to strengthen public education and support a more equal society by creating opportunities for people to shape their own futures through learning.
The institute organizes its initiatives around literacy and reading, access to education, and technology and innovation. Its programs include training public-school teachers in literacy, reading promotion, and future skills, as well as providing free books and e-books. Through Somos Futuro, it supports the development of young people and helps expand educational opportunities regardless of where they live. It also backs social organizations and projects and shares free online resources for students and public-school teachers.
Instituto Somos promotes educational practice and innovation through content, courses, and initiatives such as the Educador Nota 10 award, which recognizes educators and celebrates their contributions to basic education.
