Instytut Spraw Obywatelskich, also known as the Civil Affairs Institute, is a civic organization that operates independently of political parties. Since its establishment in 2004, their mission has been to cultivate, shape, and advocate for active citizenship. They envision a Poland where citizens take responsibility for their families, homes, streets, cities, and states, making it easier to care for the common good and engage in public life.

The Institute actively encourages citizen participation through various initiatives and campaigns, such as the European Car-Free Day and the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the first Solidarity movement. They also provide training, coaching, and work practices for community workers, aiming to empower and support individuals involved in social entrepreneurship. Through their work, the Institute promotes a democratic and inclusive society in Poland, where citizens' voices are heard, and the quality of everyday life is improved
