The Deutsche 505er Klassenvereinigung is the official German association for the 505 dinghy sailing class. It supports sailors at every level, from newcomers discovering the boat to experienced crews competing in national and international events. The association shares class news, regatta calendars, entry information, race results, reports and rankings for helms and crew. Members and visitors can also find training dates and reports, information about the class and its history, and profiles of German champions dating back to 1961.

To help people get started, the association offers opportunities to try sailing a 505, connects sailors through a crew-finding exchange and makes a current racing boat available to ambitious beginners through its loan-boat program. Training camps, including sessions led by experienced champions before many regattas, provide practical opportunities to develop skills. The site also serves as a resource for boat owners, with construction drawings, tuning and fitting guidance, a used-boat market, photographs, posters, downloads, and links to class communities.
