Día de la Mujer Latina (DML) is a community-centered health organization dedicated to improving fairness in access to healthcare, support, and information. Since 1997, it has worked to address barriers such as lack of insurance, transportation, and reliable health information, with services designed around communities’ cultural, linguistic, and economic needs. Its approach emphasizes listening, respectful relationships, education, and practical help so people can make informed health decisions.
DML developed the MINE Framework™—Motivate, Inform, Navigate, Educate—to help Promotores and Community Health Workers turn trusted conversations into meaningful health action. The framework supports culturally responsive discussion, clear health education, connection to services, and continued learning. The organization also offers a Telehealth Community Navigation Contact Center, providing virtual support by phone, text, email, and social media. Its team creates health assessment profiles, connects people with medical care and resources addressing social determinants of health, and conducts follow-ups to help prevent gaps in care. Through these programs, DML helps individuals and families pursue healthier lives and better engage with healthcare services.
