Intermountain Nursery

Welcome to Intermountain Nursery! Located in Prather, California, we are a premier California Native Plant Nursery and provider of organic gardening supplies. With over 40 years of experience, we are dedicated to growing, nurturing, and respecting plants, people, and our beautiful planet. Founded in 1980 by Ray Laclergue and Bonnie Bladen, Intermountain Nursery has been a leading advocate for using native plants and proper land restoration.

In 2020, the nursery was sold to Bev and Chris Schubert, who have continued the tradition of growing California Native Plants. Operating on approximately 5 acres, our nursery is the primary grower of California Native Plants in the Central Valley area. Our grounds feature demonstration gardens that showcase a variety of native and drought-tolerant species, perfectly suited for our climate.

We also have greenhouses, cold frames, a shade house, and dedicated growing areas that allow us to propagate a wide range of plant species. At Intermountain Nursery, we not only sell a diverse selection of plants, including shrubs, fruit trees, berries, and shade trees, but we also offer garden supplies and bedding plants. We are a valuable resource and gathering place for the community, providing education and support for those interested in learning more about native plant gardening.

Come visit Intermountain Nursery, where we strive to inspire and empower individuals to create thriving and sustainable gardens using California Native Plants
