International Dance Day, established in 1982 by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), is celebrated annually on April 29th, in honor of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet. The goal of International Dance Day is to showcase and appreciate the art of dance as a universal language that transcends political, cultural, and ethnic boundaries.
