The International Accord Foundation is a brand dedicated to promoting workplace safety in the textile and garment industry. Through independent safety inspections, training programs, and a complaints mechanism, they work with brands, factories, and workers to ensure safer working conditions. The Accord is a legally binding agreement between 200 garment brands and global trade unions, aiming to ensure the well-being of workers in the industry.

It recognizes the rights of workers to organize, refuse unsafe work, and raise health and safety concerns. Brands support and incentivize suppliers to meet health and safety standards, while factories implement and maintain safety standards in different areas. The Accord also conducts factory inspections, monitors remediation progress, trains safety committees, and addresses worker grievances through a comprehensive complaints mechanism.

By promoting transparency and accountability, the Accord strives to create a safe and sustainable garment industry. With over 56,000 inspections at covered factories and thousands of safety committee members trained, they have made significant progress towards their mission
