About International Hemp Building Association
The International Hemp Building Association (IHBA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 with the goal of promoting and supporting the sustainable and bio-regional production and use of hemp-based construction materials worldwide. With over 200 members from 25 different countries, the IHBA strives to gather and share knowledge about these materials and systems, assisting members in developing systems for producing and using them in various architectural styles. The association also works to educate and inform relevant government and trade bodies to establish the necessary infrastructure for a global hemp building industry while minimizing environmental impact.
Steve Allin, the director and founder of the IHBA, is a renowned hemp building consultant and author who has introduced hemp building in various countries and has conducted numerous successful hemp building courses. The IHBA also organizes symposiums and events to further promote the use of hemp in construction
