The Programme supports the development of the eligible border areas, in Romania and Bulgaria (Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi and Constanta in Romania, Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko-Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra and Dobrich in Bulgaria). The Programme aims to create a “bridge” between the two countries, in order to help the border areas overcome their similar development problems. People in border areas are encouraged to cooperate, to exchange information and benefit from improved access over the frontier. They work together on issues like improving accessibility, flood prevention, risk management, preservation of natural assets and tourism promotion.

About Interreg Romania-Bulgaria
Interreg VI A is a brand that focuses on the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria program funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
