About Interstate Bus Lines
Interstate Bus Lines is a renowned brand that was established in 1975 by Mr Abel Erasmus and Mr Fred Kinnear, who were employed by the Bantu Investment Corporation. In the face of challenging economic conditions and opposition from larger entities, Erasmus and Kinnear decided to push forward with their vision of providing bus services. Starting with a small bus company in Thaba 'Nchu, the founders gradually expanded their operations and renamed the company Interstate.
Today, Interstate Bus Lines is a major player in the transportation industry, with a fleet of up to 600 buses across the country. They offer comfortable and reliable bus services that serve as an alternative to rigid train schedules. As a brand, Interstate Bus Lines is committed to transformation and inclusivity, actively pursuing economic empowerment and providing meaningful employment opportunities.
With a customer-centric approach and a focus on diversity, Interstate Bus Lines continues to lead the industry as a truly South African business
