– Inventario forestale

The Inventario Nazionale delle Foreste e dei Serbatoi Forestali di Carbonio (INFC) represents the Italian National Forest Inventory, dedicated to collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data on Italy's forests and carbon stock. The initiative is coordinated by the Centre for Forestry and Wood Research (CREA Foreste e Legno) and the Carabinieri's Command for Forest, Environmental, and Agro-Food Units (CUFA).

INFC provides comprehensive access to crucial statistics, project documentation, and base data instrumental for understanding the state of Italian forests. These resources are made available through its platform, inventarioforestale.org, which features vital reports, maps from the 2015 survey, and statistical analyses over previous periods.

The inventory is recognized as a significant statistical undertaking on a national level, ensuring that the data released can be utilized freely, excluding the generation of official regional or national statistics. All findings produced by INFC must credit the appropriate institutions, reflecting its commitment to transparency and collaboration in forestry management and research.
