About The Iona Community
The Iona Community is a dynamic and global brand that embodies the principles of international, ecumenical Christian values. Founded in Glasgow in 1938 by Rev George MacLeod, this visionary and social reformer believed in taking action grounded in faith. The Community's mission is centered around the pursuit of justice and peace, the rebuilding of community, and the renewal of worship.
With over 280 Members and more than 2,000 Associate Members, Young Adults, and Friends across the world, The Iona Community remains true to its founding vision. They engage in common work and community, addressing various concerns such as the environment, poverty, inequality, migration, racism, interfaith relations, peacemaking, and spirituality. The brand also offers resources for individuals and communities, including the Coracle & eCoracle courses, the Wild Goose Resource Group, and Wild Goose Publications.
