About Ioniqa Circular
Ioniqa Circular is a clean-tech spinoff from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. They specialize in using their proprietary circular technology to create value out of PET waste. With a cost-effective process, Ioniqa is able to transform all types and colors of PET waste into valuable resources for new PET production.
Their innovative upcycling process has won several awards, including the 'National Icoon' Award in 2019. They are currently researching upcycling processes for other types of plastics as well. How does it work? Ioniqa's ground-breaking technology, called depolymerisation, dissolves the polymer structure of PET waste in a solution, resulting in a pure raw material that is identical to plastics produced from oil.
This raw material can be used to produce new PET bottles that are food safe. In addition to their innovative approach, Ioniqa also leads the NOW (NO Waste) movement, encouraging the PET industry to shift towards infinite upcycling.
