Inst of Osteopathy

The Institute of Osteopathy (iO) is the professional body for osteopathy in the UK. It supports, unites, develops and promotes the profession, with the aim of improving public health and patient care. Its website helps the public understand osteopathy and its whole-person approach to health, and offers guidance on topics such as workplace health, ageing, children’s wellbeing, sport and muscle and joint conditions.

Visitors can use the Find an Osteopath service to locate a practitioner and explore information about what to expect from osteopathic care. The iO also serves healthcare professionals, students and registered osteopaths through research and reports, professional news, events, courses, continuing professional development and networking opportunities. Members can access a dedicated online zone, while job listings and advertising options connect clinics, employers and the osteopathic community.

The organisation also promotes pathways into the profession, shares health advice and highlights the work of individuals and practices. Based in Luton, the Institute works with regional societies and supports the development and visibility of osteopathy across the UK
