About Ipak House
Ipak House is a small silk and handmade textile workshop in the Sebzar neighborhood of Tashkent, founded in 2014 by Dilnora Umarova. Rooted in local craft traditions, the studio dyes natural silk with plant-based pigments, weaves using the traditional abrbandi technique, and creates embroidery inspired by Uzbek patterns. Its intimate workshops welcome beginners and are limited to small groups, with materials and tools provided.
Visitors can learn natural silk dyeing, weaving on a wooden loom, and suzani embroidery, or join a two-person session to make hand-decorated scarves. The workshop also has a small shop featuring its own handmade goods and work by local artisans. Products include silk scarves, woven cotton-and-silk shawls, embroidered suzani pieces, hand-dyed yarn, and home dye kits, as well as gift certificates for classes.
Each item is made or selected with an emphasis on craftsmanship rather than mass production. Ipak House offers a welcoming place to explore textile arts, learn practical skills, and take home a handmade creation
