The Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) is the statewide association supporting community health centers (CHCs) across Illinois. Its mission is to help these centers and the people they serve thrive, contributing to a state where everyone can access exceptional care. CHCs provide integrated, whole-person services, including medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy care, through a patient-focused medical home. According to IPHCA, these centers serve 1.5 million patients annually at more than 430 sites, and one in nine Illinois residents receives care at a CHC.
IPHCA equips health centers with practical resources, training and support to respond to changing health care needs. Its offerings include learning resources, live events, on-demand training and toolkits, an online learning management system, and an annual conference. The association also provides guidance on areas such as quality improvement, workforce development, finance and operations, behavioral health, policy, emergency preparedness and funding opportunities. In addition, IPHCA supports advocacy, business membership and purchasing opportunities, and helps people locate nearby community health centers.
