IPMS/USA is the United States Branch of the International Plastic Modelers' Society, whose roots can be traced to the startup of the first IPMS National Branch during the 1960's in Great Britain. In 1964 a US-based modeler applied for a charter to start the US Branch.

About IPMSUSA
IPMS/USA is the United States branch of the International Plastic Modelers' Society. With its roots tracing back to the establishment of the first IPMS National Branch in Great Britain during the 1960s, IPMS/USA has grown to become a dedicated and all-volunteer organization with over 5,000 members. Their mission is to promote the modeling hobby and provide a platform for modelers to share their skills and passion in a social setting.
IPMS/USA organizes local, regional, and national contests and conventions, offering friendly yet spirited competition. Currently, there are more than 220 active chapters across the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and even a cyber-chapter online. The organization also publishes the Modelers' Journal, a vibrant magazine available to members six times a year.
Their website, ipmsusa. org, is a popular hub for product reviews, competition information, images of members' work, and discussion forums. IPMS/USA runs various programs to attract novice and experienced modelers, as well as a program dedicated to honoring and supporting deployed troops.
