IPNSIG, the Interplanetary Networking Special Interest Group of the Internet Society, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to realizing the vision of a Solar System Internet. For over twenty-five years, the organization has been at the forefront of developing networking technologies suited for interplanetary distances, particularly through the creation of Delay & Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) protocols, such as the Bundle Protocol. These innovations enable reliable communication despite the vast distances and challenges presented by space environments.

Led by President Yosuke Kaneko and a skilled board, IPNSIG orchestrates various working groups focused on architecture, governance, and outreach to expand networking capabilities into space. The organization maintains a robust library of technical documentation and educational resources through its IPNSIG Academy.
