About IPPR Namibia
The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is a grant-funded, autonomous policy research institute established in April 2001 in Namibia. Its primary mission is to conduct independent, analytical research on social, political, and economic issues that influence Namibia's development. The IPPR operates free from the influence of government, political parties, commercial interests, and trade unions, ensuring that its research is objective and credible.
The institute focuses on three core areas: democracy and governance research, public opinion, and public policy analysis. Notable projects include the Democracy Report, which monitors parliamentary activities, and extensive anti-corruption research initiated in 2009, developed in collaboration with various partners. IPPR also engages in publications that address topics such as electoral integrity, media sustainability, and economic review. Funded by a wide range of domestic and international donors, including the United States and Australia, IPPR remains committed to fostering informed public debate and contributing to Namibia's democratic processes.
