The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) is dedicated to enhancing public financial management and sustainable development through the development of high-quality accounting and sustainability standards for public sector entities. Operated under the auspices of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the IPSASB focuses on advancing the adoption of accrual-based International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and the IPSASB Sustainability Reporting Standards (IPSASB SRS).

The IPSASB undertakes two main activities: delivering global standards and inspiring their adoption and implementation. By following a transparent due process, the board ensures that the perspectives of stakeholders are incorporated into standard-setting, promoting accountability and better financial reporting practices. The board's governance includes a Public Interest Committee to oversee that its activities remain aligned with public interests.
