Ipsuss

The Institute of Public Policies in Health (IPSUSS) is a health policy institute at Universidad San Sebastián in Chile. It aims to provide decision-makers, health-sector stakeholders and the public with timely, reliable and relevant information grounded in the best available evidence. Through research, analysis and public engagement, IPSUSS explores the challenges facing Chile’s health system, including access to medicines, cancer care, primary health services, health financing and the future of public health coverage.

Its work includes studies, policy commentary, news and educational resources, alongside seminars and expert discussions that bring together public authorities, researchers and health professionals. IPSUSS also supports community health education through its Patient Empowered program, which offers practical workshops on prevention, self-care, medication management, healthy eating and patients’ rights. The institute organizes a public policy research competition and contributes to conversations about improving healthcare planning and delivery. By sharing evidence and creating opportunities for dialogue, IPSUSS seeks to inform public debate and support more effective, accessible and person-centred health policies in Chile.
