The Polytechnic University of Tomar (IPT) is a public higher education institution in Portugal’s Médio Tejo region, with campuses in Tomar and Abrantes. Its three schools serve a close-knit community of just over 2,000 students, offering more than 60 courses across archaeology, heritage conservation and restoration, arts, design, communication, business, social sciences, engineering, information and communication technologies, mathematics, and physics.

Study options include undergraduate and master’s degrees, doctoral programmes, professional higher technical courses, postgraduate programmes, micro-credentials, short courses, and specialist training. The university provides information and support for applications, enrolment, academic services, international mobility, and student welfare. Its research activity is supported by research centres, laboratories, and applied research facilities.

Student services include libraries and study spaces, dining facilities, accommodation, social support, health services, sports, and transport information. Students can also take part in cultural and extracurricular activities through student associations, music groups, and sports teams. With campuses in two regional cities, IPT combines academic study with opportunities for community involvement and access to the history, culture, and outdoor activities of the Médio Tejo.
