About 入船山記念館
Irifuneyama Memorial Museum is a distinguished cultural institution located in Kure City, Japan, designated as an Important Cultural Property since 1998. It serves as a key site to explore the rich history of Kure, particularly its deep-rooted ties with the Imperial Navy over the past 62 years. The museum features a variety of exhibits, highlighting rare documents and artifacts that narrate the relationship between Kure and naval history.
Alongside the Kure City Museum of Art, it contributes to the cultural zone of Irifuneyama Park. The museum hosts a range of events, including special exhibitions such as "The Naval Base and Kure," running until December 2024. In addition to regular displays, the museum offers seasonal activities, such as full moon concerts, traditional tea ceremonies, and collaborative discounts with the Yamato Museum. Open daily (except Tuesdays), the Irifuneyama Memorial Museum is an inviting destination for those interested in history, art, and engaging educational experiences.
