Ironbridge Gorge Flower School

Nettie of the Gorge offers natural floral design, floristry education and wedding flowers from the Ironbridge Gorge Flower School in Jackfield, Shropshire. Located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Conservation Area, the school provides a welcoming, informal setting for people to explore creative floral design. Seasonal workshops and classes suit complete beginners, keen gardeners, flower enthusiasts, aspiring florists and traditionally trained designers looking to develop their skills.

Lessons emphasise sustainable, environmentally friendly techniques, authentic and diverse design, and the use of locally grown Shropshire flowers whenever possible. Floral foam is never used, reflecting the brand’s commitment to a more ethical and sustainable future. Students receive flowers and materials, along with light refreshments.

Nettie also offers personalised one-to-one sessions, tailored to individual interests, including introductions to floristry, farewell flowers, wedding design, sustainability and seasonality. Private group celebrations are available for groups of at least six. In addition, Nettie provides wedding floral design services in Shropshire and surrounding areas, creating arrangements with creativity at their core.
