Ironhand Boxing

Ironhand Boxing is a Staten Island boxing gym founded by Ian Sampaga to serve, influence and inspire the local community through world-class training. Located at 1230 Castleton Avenue, the gym welcomes beginners, experienced boxers, children and teens, and registered amateur competitors. Its coaching emphasizes proper technique, one-on-one mitt work, bag work and conditioning, with members training at their own level.

Ironhand offers group classes seven days a week, personal sessions with Coach Ian, Friday programs for kids and teens, and a fighters program focused on competition preparation, including rounds, ring work and corner-ready training. The weekly schedule also includes women’s boxing and a group run at Clove Lakes Park. Personal sessions are booked in pairs, while virtual small-group and one-on-one options are available.

Month-to-month memberships range from one to five training days per week, with higher-frequency plans including personal sessions. A family package is offered for two or more children. Ironhand’s coaching team includes active competitors, certified coaches and former students who now help train members.
