El Instituto Sistemas Complejos de Ingeniería (ISCI) es un centro de investigación científica que aborda problemas de gran tamaño y complejidad, que afectan a organizaciones, empresas, instituciones y comunidades. La resolución requiere técnicas de vanguardia y mucha creatividad. Es de esta manera que nuestros investigadores representan matemáticamente el mundo, los procesos y el comportamiento de los individuos, sus decisiones y consecuencias. Buscando integrar distintas áreas de la ingeniería para generar investigación científica de alto nivel y gracias al apoyo financiero que el Gobierno de Chile entrega a través de la Iniciativa Científica Milenio (ICM) y CONICYT, hoy, el Instituto alberga académicos de excelencia de la Universidad de Chile, la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, la Universidad de Los Andes, la Universidad de Talca y la Universidad de Concepción. Entre ellos, hay investigadores de amplia trayectoria, pero también jóvenes promesas, todos son doctorados de universidades de renombre y autores de múltiples publicaciones en revistas internacionales. Su trabajo está representado por los siguientes grupos de investigación: Recursos Naturales Consumer Analytics Data Science Transporte Energía Localización y Logística Organización Industrial Smartcities
