About SFEV
The International Society for Food and Environmental Virology (ISFEV) is a professional society dedicated to advancing understanding of viruses transmitted through food and the environment and helping prevent the diseases associated with them. It brings together researchers from academia, industry stakeholders, and policy decision-makers to encourage research, exchange knowledge, and address ongoing challenges in food and environmental virology.
ISFEV supports its community through conferences, educational activities, and research resources. Its events include international congresses, with the next conference scheduled for Athens, Greece, from September 6 to 10, 2026. The society also arranges web classes, training schools, and joint initiatives. Members and visitors can access information about membership, grants, current legislation, relevant research papers, and a publications database. The society also promotes subscription to its online journal.
By connecting people and sharing knowledge across sectors, ISFEV aims to strengthen the field and contribute to collective efforts to understand and prevent food- and environment-related viral diseases.
