About ISIMIP
ISIMIP, the Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project, is a collaborative international network dedicated to analyzing the effects of climate change on natural and human systems. Established by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, ISIMIP brings together over 100 modeling groups worldwide to create a robust and consistent understanding of climate impacts across various sectors.
ISIMIP offers essential climate and socioeconomic forcing datasets, facilitating cross-sectoral climate impact modeling. The project implements a comprehensive modeling framework that integrates different climate scenarios, enhancing knowledge on climate-related risks and informing global and regional risk management strategies.
Key contributions include the development of protocols for various simulation rounds, including ISIMIP3a/b, which focus on model evaluation, impacts of climate change, and adaptation scenarios. Through extensive resources such as input and output data, publications, and fact sheets, ISIMIP aims to bridge gaps in climate research and drive informed decision-making concerning climate adaptation and mitigation.
