Alfonso, who arrived in Oslo out of love, shared a deep affection for Italian cuisine. It was at the classic Italian gelato shop La Dolce Vita that he met Haron, an Erasmus student, and their friendship was formed over their love for gelato. Together, they dreamt of opening their own gelateria to bring the Italian ice cream tradition to Oslo and share it with their "new" compatriots.

Paradis Gelateria is not just a place for gelato; it's a meeting point for everyone, where young and old, families and children, tourists and locals can indulge in moments of pleasure and well-being. They offer a wide variety of ice creams, desserts, and coffee for every taste and occasion. What started with their first store in Tjuvholmen in 2012 with three employees has now grown to include additional stores in Mathallen, Sørenga, Karl Johan, and Bjørvika, employing a team of 15 permanent staff members and over 60 seasonal helpers.

For Alfonso and Haron, Paradis has become more than just a business venture; it has become a way of life. Their drive is simple: to constantly strive for improvement, using only the best Norwegian and Italian ingredients while never ceasing to innovate. They are mindful of calories and heavy fats when creating their recipes.

They also offer vegan and lactose-free fruit-based gelatos, and many of their cakes are gluten-free. Whenever possible, they adhere to the halal and kosher rules of preparation. While they stay true to tradition, they understand that the best Italian ice cream traditions are also universal.
