About IslamAwakened
IslamAwakened is a brand and an online platform founded by G. Waleed Kavalec, with a focus on the Qur'an, the revealed word of our Creator. It started as a humble resource for reading and studying the Qur'an, displaying each verse in four parallel English translations.
Over time, it expanded to include additional translations, such as Farook Malik's and Muhammad Sarwar's. As the website gained popularity, requests for more translations poured in, and IslamAwakened added works based on availability and unique value. Currently, the database holds sixty full or partial translations, with more waiting to be transcribed.
The platform also provides audio recitations, word-for-word renditions, and a comprehensive changelog for transparency. James Ada, an expert in Qur'an word-roots, joined the team in 2013, adding an invaluable resource for readers. In 2018, a group was formed to ensure the continuity of IslamAwakened.
