About Islamic Society Toronto
The Islamic Society of Toronto - Masjid Darus Salaam (IST) is a vibrant nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area, primarily in Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park. Established in 1995, IST offers a welcoming place of worship and a comprehensive range of educational programs aimed at fostering Islamic values among its members. Services include full-time and part-time Hifz programs, evening and Sunday classes, youth initiatives, and family-oriented activities.
IST is focused on promoting religious teachings through its Madrasah, which educates children on subjects such as the Holy Quran, Arabic language, and Islamic history. The society actively engages with the community, working collaboratively with local organizations to fulfill the needs of Muslims and enhance harmonious relations with diverse groups. With ongoing expansions, including the recent acquisition of a new facility, IST is committed to meeting the growing demands for religious education, community gatherings, and recreational activities.
