Isle Stand Up To Suicide (SOS IOM) is a dedicated charity on the Isle of Man, focused on providing essential support to individuals facing suicidal crises. With the alarming increase in suicide rates during recent years—particularly exacerbated by the pandemic—SOS IOM steps in to offer vital services that fill gaps in existing support systems. The charity operates a helpline available daily from 2 p.
m. to 10 p. m., providing immediate assistance to anyone in distress.
Following initial contact, callers are offered optional phone counseling to navigate through their challenging moments, emphasizing short-term interventions. Additionally, SOS IOM provides expert Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training, empowering the local community with the skills and confidence to engage in meaningful discussions about suicide and mental health.
