About Islington Mill
Islington Mill is a vibrant and resourceful art hub located in Salford, UK. Established in 2000, it is housed in a partially-abandoned mill building, offering artist studios across multiple floors, as well as open and atmospheric spaces. With over 100 resident artists and collectives, Islington Mill has become a focal point for the arts community in the north-west, attracting both local and international artists.
In addition to the main mill building, Islington Mill also operates Regents Trading Estate, a plot of former industrial land, where they have established new artist studios, event spaces, and a community garden. They have also acquired a former mill building named New Islington Mill, which is being refurbished to accommodate creative businesses and artists from various disciplines.
Islington Mill fosters a collaborative and exploratory environment, promoting self-organisation, responsibility, and freedom for artists. To further support artist education and development, they have established the Islington Mill Foundation, a charity dedicated to bringing art and people together.
Stay updated with their activities by subscribing to their newsletter. Islington Mill welcomes you to explore their transformed space in 2023.
