ISN is opgericht in 1982 en is met 148 aangesloten moskeeën één van de grootste maatschappelijke organisaties in Nederland. ISN heeft het principe van mens-georiënteerd opereren als speerpunt genomen en heeft haar activiteiten volgens dit principe vormgegeven. Het oprichtingsdoel was (en is) om de bestaande mogelijkheden voor de verrichting van de religieuze plichten van de in Nederland woonachtige moslims te ondersteunen en verder te ontwikkelen. ISN zet zich in voor de rechten van de mens, vrede, solidariteit en samenleven en probeert dat te verspreiden in brede kringen.

About Islamitische Stichting Nederland

Islamitische Stichting Nederland (ISN) is a prominent organization in the Netherlands, established in 1982. With 148 affiliated mosques, ISN stands as one of the largest societal organizations in the country. Guided by the principle of human-centered operation, ISN has shaped its activities accordingly.

The primary objective of ISN, both then and now, has been to support and further develop the existing opportunities for the religious obligations of Muslims living in the Netherlands. Additionally, ISN strives to advocate for human rights, peace, solidarity, and coexistence, aiming to spread these principles throughout society. ISN offers a range of services including mosque education, pilgrimage organization, funeral services, and more.

Notably, in 2020, ISN published an extensive Dutch-language Islamic catechism called Handboek van de Islam (Handbook of Islam). Through its various services, ISN aims to facilitate and enhance the religious experiences and practices of Muslims in the Netherlands
