About ISOC.RS
Internet društvo Srbije, the Belgrade branch, is a nonprofit organization and association of citizens, open to collaboration with members active in the field of the Internet and communication technologies, particularly in the use of the Internet in science, education, and everyday life. As part of the global Internet Society, we support the organization's vision that the Internet should be accessible to every individual and its mission. One of the activities of the Belgrade branch is DESCON, an event dedicated to community building and capacity building - a hackathon focused on Internet security, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, electronics, and wearable technology.
Over the years, the event has primarily focused on the use of Internet technology to address environmental issues. DESCON brings together local and regional participants from the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe, as well as leading global thinkers, engineers, artists, designers, science fiction writers, and enthusiasts from around the world.
