ISOCORE Lab

ISOCORE is an academic spin-off of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, bringing expertise in basic and applied nuclear physics to research and technical services. Active in high-precision radiocarbon dating since 2005, the company supports projects across cultural heritage, archaeology, environmental science, agri-food, forensics and industry. Its laboratories provide sample preparation and analytical services using Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS), Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence, scanning electron microscopy, gamma-ray spectroscopy and ion implantation.

ISOCORE dates diverse materials, including wood, bone, textiles, paper and mortar, and applies radiocarbon “bomb spike” methods to forensic investigations and authentication. Its work also includes isotope analysis to assess nitrate contamination in groundwater and investigations of nuclear materials in facilities undergoing decommissioning.
