Innerschweizer SchriftstellerInnenverein

The Innerschweizer Schriftstellerinnen- und Schriftstellerverein (ISSV) is an association for writers with a verifiable connection to Central Switzerland, including Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Lucerne and Zug. Founded in 1943, it represents more than 150 members and supports literary work through public events, shared publications and collaboration with related organisations in Switzerland and abroad.

ISSV brings writers and readers together through readings, festivals and literary programmes. It organises the Zuger Literaturfestival Höhenflug and holds the Bücherjahr events in June and December, showcasing members’ new publications. Its Edition IS*V publishes collections, including an edition devoted to dialect writing. The association also features writers, books, news and cultural events on its website, where members can share announcements and publications.

To keep audiences informed, ISSV offers the Kulturletter, published ten times a year with cultural recommendations and reports connected to the association, literature and Central Switzerland. Members receive a printed newsletter twice yearly as well as regular updates. Through these activities, ISSV promotes the region’s literary community and helps its writers reach wider audiences.
